Denise is a very experienced HR professional with over 30 years’ experience in Local Government, 28 years MCIPD. Denise until recently was Head of HR in an award winning Unitary Authority, being a member of and supporting the Senior Executive Board. In 2021 she decided to become a consultant and registered as an HR Associate at WME.
Denise is resilient, adaptable and has a track record of delivery, transformation and improvement. She is an excellent communicator who inspires trust and confidence across all levels of an organisation.
Denise is happiest when supporting an organisation to deal with its employee relations issues. She has a wealth of experience in dealing with complex, sensitive, disciplinary, grievance, dignity at work, performance management and attendance issues. She does not shy away from having difficult conversations. She can provide employment advice and support across a range of reorganisation, restructure, service design, TUPE and redundancy matters and has also been responsible for successful recruitment campaigns, from advertisement to offer, at all levels of an organisation.
Denise builds strong relationships with employees, managers, politicians, partners and trade union representatives, as required. She is experienced at developing, consulting on and implementing key workforce policies within a large public sector organisation to support values, aims, objectives and priorities. A promoter of equality and inclusion through policy development and practical implementation. Denise is skilled at enabling and supporting others to achieve their goals and develop their expertise and potential.
This was proven when her HR team became a high performing, respected, credible and responsive group of professionals under her management and leadership.
Since her time at WME, Denise has undertaken a number of complex disciplinary and grievance cases, managed a large scale restructure, undertaken a number of projects through WME’s partnership with WM ADASS, as well as supporting a number of Councils progressing through Local Government Reform processes.
