Phil is a recently retired senior police officer with over 35+ years' experience; he has worked in a variety of demanding operational and strategic roles delivering highly effective successful outcomes at both a tactical and strategic level. He has significant exposure and experience in crisis management operating across a number of leadership roles; alongside considerable experience in leading and managing people from across a number of areas, Intelligence, Contact Centre, Crime & Operations, Learning & Development and Local Policing.
He is experienced in the management of investigations in relation to serious and organised crime and in the assessment and management of risk. He has also undertaken professional standards and grievance investigations and chaired disciplinary/conduct panels.
His excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, have been successfully used to build effective and resilient relationships with an extensive range of stakeholders/organisations. Phil is a strong advocate of fairness, equality, diversity and inclusion and he aspires to support and develop others.
To further support his strong operational/strategic experience, he has acquired BA (Hons) and MA in Management & Leadership, alongside Coaching/Mentor qualifications. He has utilised these to deliver a number of leadership modules for Coventry University in the development of senior leaders within the Civil Service. Phil has also delivered the Degree Holder Entry Programme(DHEP) for City of London Police. Phil is a keen supporter/influencer of child protection matters, as such he is a director/governor within Coventry School Foundation (CSF) and was recently the Chair of the Management Committee for Coventry Extended Learning Centres (Pupil Referral Units) and Woodfield SEMH School in Coventry.
