Sir Dave Thompson QPM DL was the Chief Constable of West Midlands Police (WMP) between 2016 and 2022. As the Vice Chair of the National Police Chiefs Council he worked with central government on policy and programmes in terrorism, finance, procurement, race and the COVID 19 emergency. He led the security operation for the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games. WMP was ranked 2nd in the UKs Inclusive Companies Index during his leadership. He now works as a consultant advising Deloitte. He chairs the United by 2022 Games Legacy charity, is a Non Executive Director at the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman and a trustee of the Birmingham Invictus Games 2027.

Dave has extensive board experience in public, private and third sector boards. He has skills in building c-suite teams and inclusive cultures. He is experienced in developing organisational strategy, large scale transformation / major programmes and cost reduction programmes. He often chairs and facilitates problem solving sessions and is effective in building matrix teams. He has extensive experience of leadership challenges in large organisations including crisis management.
