A highly experienced HR and OD professional, operating as Head of Profession for the last eight years and with over thirty years’ experience within local government, I am passionate about the value a great People function can bring to an organisation; with the energy and commitment to deliver excellent outcomes through outstanding people management interventions.

Operating at senior leadership level I am a strong generalist with solid HR credentials underpinning an OD mindset. Continuous improvement is important to me in taking both strategic and operational perspectives to service delivery.

I undertake and inspire others to create, develop and deliver business focused solutions, whilst providing a customer-first service, always with clear purpose in mind. With Chartered Fellowship of the CIPD, and as a qualified coach and mentor, I bring a valuable combination of technical HR expertise with strategic insight and practical implementation skills.

• Casework, including sickness absence management, disciplinary and grievance, and managed exit including formal settlement agreements • Equality and inclusion • Recruitment, including senior appointments with Elected Member panels

• HR systems implementation • Coaching and mentoring

• Working with and formally presenting to Elected Members including Cabinet, Scrutiny, Audit and other Boards and Committees

This sits alongside significant experience in management and leadership of HR Services across all local government functions, at County, District and Unitary level, including schools, and as a member of service, directorate and corporate leadership teams.
