Welcome to starting your coaching/mentoring journey!
Working with a coach or mentor can make a profound impact on performance and confidence, it is proven to help enhance performance and the speed at which it is achieved.
Solihull MBC and Solihull Community Housing are proud to be working in partnership with West Midlands Employers to deliver our coaching and mentoring offer.
A coach will help you through raising awareness; looking at different perspectives to enable you to think things
through in ways you couldn’t do on your own and a mentor does this through sharing their experience and expertise. It could be an hour of focussed discussion, or over a number of short sessions. If you have something you want
to accomplish at work consider working with a coach or mentor to help you get there.
Coaching from the pool involves working 1 to 1 with someone who can help you look at how you need to be in your role as well help you establish what you need to do. Coaching can support if you want to:

We have an internal network of experienced coaches and mentors who offer a very high standard of support. Coming from a diverse range of professional backgrounds, our internal pool have received full training. These colleagues will have a shared organisational understanding, which can be a useful feature of internal coaching and mentoring.
Alternatively, you also have access to qualified coaches and mentors working in a variety of senior roles in over 25 different public sector organisations (including local government, Police, Fire Service and Universities), who will bring an external viewpoint and perspective.
Accessing trained and accredited coaches and mentors (both internal and external) offers a unique opportunity to focus on specific issues within a professional and confidential setting. It enables reflection, promotes understanding and brings forward fresh insights to reach the desired outcomes.
The location and time of all sessions is agreed between the Coach/Mentor and the client, and can also be offered remotely (i.e. via telephone/Teams/Zoom etc).
