Shakil Butt (FCIPD, FCCA) is a values driven, accomplished, award winning HR and OD professional with over 30 years of experience including leading an award-winning global HR team in a multi faith, multi ethnic and multi-cultural environment.

Now working as an independent consultant, Shakil adds value engaging with organisations and individuals with their HR and OD challenges and executive support. Shakil has led on governance, strategic HR and leadership development including coaching skills for mangers.

Shakil has delivered many HR services including employee relations investigations, D&I training and focus groups, HR audits, HR metrics reporting, Agile working and reward reviews.

An accredited trainer and qualified MBTI practitioner, Shakil has designed several management and leadership development programmes. Shakil is also a visiting lecturer in Strategic Human Resource Management and Leadership Development at Post Graduate level.

An experienced investigator, Shakil has carried out many complex and sensitive employee relations investigations and chaired hearings. 

Shakil is an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion consultant and has designed and delivered training to senior leadership teams as well as carrying out focus groups.

As a non-executive director of the CIPD member since 2016, Shakil has extensive governance experience and additionally chairs the Audit & Risk Committee and sits on the Remuneration Committee.

• Leading on addressing home office revocation achieving reinstatement.
• Involved in the needs analysis and selection of a HRMIS, sitting on the project board.
• Led on restructures to resize the organisation dealing with complex change challenges.
• Designing an induction programme and a development plan for every employee.
• Designing and delivering employment law training targeting all managers to help mitigate against poor management practices identified from analysing disciplinaries and grievances. 
• Responsible for developing, implementing and measuring the organisational strategy.
• Dealt with criminal cases and filed Serious Incident Reports at the Charity Commission.
• Implementing Conflict of Interest Policy across the organisation.
