West Midlands Employers (WME) is thrilled to announce its recognition in the prestigious Public Services People Managers Association (PPMA) Excellence in People Management Awards 2025, with several nominations highlighting its impactful partnerships and innovative initiatives.

Key short listings include:

Best Workforce Transformation / Change Initiative: Telford & Wrekin Council, in partnership with Opus People Solutions and WME’s WMTemps initiative, has been recognised for transforming temporary workforce management across the region.WMTemps provides councils with innovative solutions to reduce reliance on agency workers, streamline processes, and convert temporary roles into permanent positions.

Best Partnership / Collaboration: WME, in collaboration with Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority, has been shortlisted for their work on redesigning pay and grading structures. This partnership demonstrates WME’s ability to drive strategic change beyond the West Midlands.

Best Creative Concept Recruitment Campaign: WME, supported by TMP Worldwide, has been nominated for its innovative recruitment campaign that successfully attracted top talent through creative branding and outreach strategies.

Best Candidate Experience: West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), supported by the WMTalent Acquisition Service (a partnership between WME and Tribepad), has been recognised for delivering an exceptional recruitment experience. This initiative leverages cutting-edge technology to streamline applicant tracking and enhance engagement.

These nominations reflect WME’s commitment to fostering excellence in HR and organisational development across the public sector.
