West Midlands Employers, in partnership with Solace, is launching a new Future Leaders Network for Senior Managers and aspiring Directors or Chief Executives. The first virtual session will bring together ambitious public service leaders to share insights, explore career progression and co-design a network shaped by its members.

West Midlands Employers (WME), working in partnership with Solace, is introducing a new Future Leaders Network for Senior Managers and aspiring Directors / Chief Executives. This comes from a desire to strengthen how we grow local government talent in the West Midlands, creating space for those who are curious, ambitious and committed to public service leadership to connect, learn and shape what comes next. This first virtual session marks the start of that journey.
The session will include:
- Reflections on Local Government in 2026 and beyond Senior leader insights on career progression, challenge and learning
- A co-production discussion focused on what aspiring leaders want from a Future Leaders Network
- Importantly, this is not a finished product rather it’s the beginning of a community shaped by those who take part.
The views of those senior managers/directors joining the network will directly inform how the network develops, including future formats, themes and ways of working together. This invitation is open to Senior Managers and aspiring Directors / Chief Executives.
